Questions About Our Outdoor Event Structures, Answered

Choosing the right outdoor event structure is all about options. Thats why each Highmark product is flexible.

You can go mobile. You can go modular. You can go up.

But with so many ways to build — open or enclosed, mobile or modular, single-level or two-story — we know questions come up. So we’ve pulled together answers to the most common ones.

If you’re wondering which structure fits your next event, this will help.

What is EventMax, exactly?

EventMax is our go-to modular structure for outdoor events.

Think of it like a premium building system made up of posts, beams, and decks. You can configure it into:

  • A single-story open pavilion
  • A partially enclosed brand experience
  • A double-deck structure with rooftop lounges and A/C
  • Or anything you envision. It’s customizable

It all uses the same system. Same bones. You just build what you need.

How is EventMax different from ExpoDeck?

Great question. They share DNA.

ExpoDeck is designed for indoor exhibits, featuring a large footprint and controlled environments.

EventMax is built to perform outdoors. It’s engineered to handle weather, support heating/cooling, and adapt to different terrains.

It’s also more modular for open-air setups like brand activations, VIP lounges, or pop-up pavilions.

What’s the difference between a pavilion and a double deck?

Honestly? They’re just two different configurations of the same product: EventMax.

A pavilion is a single-story structure. Open or semi-covered.

A deck usually means there’s a second level. (Or as we say, you’re “going up.”)

Both are built with the same system. What changes is how you use it.

What outdoor products do you offer?

We break them into two main categories:

1. Mobile Event Structures

Our mobile products are quick-deploy, compact, and built for movement.

  • Modulbox: A sleek 8×8 cube that unfolds into a 24-foot branded pop-up.
  • Modulbox Max: A double-wide version with more footprint, same elegance.
  • Mo5: Rolls in on wheels. Sets up in 20 seconds. Great for tours or high-volume sampling. It’s like a kiosk.

2. Modular Architectural Structures

This is where EventMax comes in.

It’s larger. Built to anchor a brand space. Fully modular. Weather-resistant. Customizable inside and out.

How do you compare your outdoor products?

We know that each iteration of our outdoor structures are different. That’s why we put together this comparison table for you. Give it a look over, and reach out to us if we can help you clarify anything.

How do your structures compare to tents and shipping containers?

Not even close.

Tents are for camping.

Containers are for shipping.

Neither were designed for world-class brands.

Our structures:

  • Are purpose-built for branding
  • Offer full accessibility (ADA-compliant ramps, no trailer tongue in the way)
  • Set up faster than containers and look 10x better than pop-up tents

You only get one chance to make a first impression. Make it count.

Are the structures ADA compliant?

Yes.

Modulbox, for example, sits just four inches off the ground. It uses a custom ramp, so wheelchair access is easy.

Compare that to trailers, which sit 18 inches high. That means a huge ramp or lift, or no access at all.

How weather-resistant are these?

EventMax is built to withstand winds up to 115 mph.

Compare that to a tent, which needs to come down at 40–50 mph.

Rain? No problem. Snow? Bring it. Sun? Our materials are made for it.

Our structures can compare to safe zones at outdoor events. That’s the level of durability we’re talking about.

Who sets them up?

Depends on the product.

  • Mo5 and Modulbox: One person can set these up in under an hour.
  • EventMax: Our team or a trusted partner usually handles installation.

You’re not alone. We don’t drop off a structure and say “good luck.” We plan it, build it, and stay in the trenches with you when things get tough.

Can I customize the design?

Absolutely.

From SEG fabric graphics to integrated lighting, AV, railings, windows, and interior build-outs, we can create:

  • Fully enclosed branded experiences
  • Open-air lounges
  • Rooftop decks with mixologists (yes, that happened)
  • And anything you can dream up. The bulleted list doesn’t end here.

If you want to wrap it in your own scenic build? Go for it. We play nice with scenic vendors and event producers all the time.

What kinds of brands use these?

These structures have been part of:

  • Brand activations at Coachella and Austin City Limits
  • Formula 1 VIP lounges for beverage brands
  • Promotional tours at stadiums, city festivals, and airports

From big tech to spirits to automotive, if the brand wants to show up strong, we’re in.

Can I rent these or only buy them?

Both.

Some clients rent for one-off events. Others purchase for tours or long-term campaigns.

Let’s talk and we’ll figure out what makes the most sense. You can rent or buy.

Final Thoughts

We get it. Our outdoor product line can seem complex at first.

But that’s the beauty of it.

Every configuration starts with the same simple idea: A better event structure, made for real-world brands.
